Having regained my sewjo, the question becomes “what shall I make?”.  I ordered some fabulous cotton lawn, thinking I would make another Roscoe Blouse but when it arrived I changed my mind.  The fabric needed a different project.

I decided on the Kiomi dress from Lotta Jansdotter’s book.  I have made one before so dug out the pattern.

All set, I followed the instructions, sewing one shoulder first then applying the binding.

I machined sewed the front of the binding but I tend to hand sew the back to prevent the stitches being visible on the outside of the garment.

I decided to make a belt, since without it this dress would be extremely unflattering on me.  I also took up the hem by a good couple of inches.

The overall impression is pretty pleasing.  I know there are some ‘snags’ but I shall keep those to myself!
